UK Visa Application process
The UK visa application process will vary depending on the type of visa you are applying for, but it generally consists of:
- Submitting a written application
- Providing supporting documents
- Attending an appointment for biometrics and submitting your passport

For a Standard Visitor Visa we charge $185 for all our services (translation, document upload, analysing, submission of application, and booking your appointment), this on top of the fee charged by the UK brings your total cost to around $325 (this is subject to regular change due to the exchange rates) for a 6 month visa. Your full Visa application form and documents will be converted into English by our professional translators, and reviewed to meet the application requirements of the UK.
Is the Application process simple?
Our processes will make it really easy. We analyse your answers and ensure that the documents you supply are accurate. Sending the documents is also simple, either a digital photograph or a scan. Even if you are not very computer literate or technologically advanced our system is easy.
Security and the safety of your private information is vitally important to us, and as such we discourage the use of e-mail when transferring any private material, instead your application and the uploading of documents is managed in our secure Members Area. Our system is mostly automated which enables you to progress your application swiftly even on weekends or holidays, and ensures your information is safely stored in a secure online environment.
After your application form is submitted, the UK government requires you to attend an appointment where you will supply your biometrics (fingerprints and photograph). You will need to attend this in person at a Visa Application Centre (VAC). For more information check our Visa Appointment page. These VACs are located in 6 cities.
Prepare your application in Turkish
To start your application, just click Apply Now for a UK Visa. Here just register to create your own members area, where you can make your payment for our service and the UK visa fee. You will then get private access to your application form, which you can start whenever you like.
During the application you will need to provide certain documents. These will be needed to evidence claims that you have made during your application. Throughout your application we will inform you of the type of documents you need to provide.
You will be asked questions about your financial status, where you will stay, your reason for visit and your previous travel history.
Whilst you complete our form, you can stop at anytime and save it until you are ready to recommence. Finally press the submit button and send it to us. We will then work on it and communicate with you.
Once we submit your application to the Consulate, your form will be evaluated by English speaking UK Government officials. It therefore needs to be completed in English. It needs to be concise, clear and accurate. We understand this may be difficult to achieve, especially if English is not your mother tongue. Frequently Asked Questions
Can the UK government be influenced or asked to speed up the decision making process for my visa?
How important is it to supply documents to support my application?
The short answer is, vital. Every claim you make must be backed up by evidence, this will be in the form of a document. Note also that each document needs to be understood by a non-Turkish speaking government official. Therefore translations and English explanations are often necessary. If a document cannot be understood it is classed as missing. Therefore the question you are answering cannot be substantiated, this will affect your application. Ensure that the documents support you, and that they do not undermine your case.
The UK Turkey Life Service includes translations and production of a schedule of documents. We examine each document in detail and ensure that it assists your application, and that it is correct with no mistakes. We explain what each document means and what statement it is supporting. We create this in English and provide translations where necessary. You will not have to pay the VAC fees (of 340tl) to upload any documents, we do this for free.
I am not sure which visa type to apply for, what can I do?
You must choose the visa category that is right for you. If you proceed with the category that is not suitable, your application may be rejected immediately by the UK government official, with no refund offered.

Can I fill out the application form in Turkish?
The official application to be submitted to UK authorities must be in English. If you apply with UK Turkey Life, you can fill out the application form in Turkish and we will translate the document into English for you as part of our services. We will also translate any necessary documents at no extra cost. More about our services.
What information will I need to provide during my application?
You will generally need to give information about yourself and your family. You will then need to explain any employment history and wages, this may include giving details of incoming, outgoings and savings.
You will also be asked whether you have any criminal convictions and what your purpose of the visit will be. There may be other questions depending on your own personal circumstances.
Here is a list of the general information you will be asked to provide:
- The dates you’re planning to travel to the UK
- Where you’ll be staying during your visit
- How much you think your trip will cost
- Your current home address and how long you’ve lived there
- Your parents’ names and dates of birth (if known)
- How much you earn in a year (if you have an income)
- Details of any criminal, civil or immigration offences you may have committed
Depending on your circumstances, you might also need to provide:
- Details of your travel history for the past 10 years
- Your employer’s address and telephone number
- Your partner’s name, date of birth and passport number
- The name and address of anyone paying for your trip
- The name, address and passport number of any family members you have in the UK

What are the main reasons a visa is refused?
There are many reasons that the UK may refuse a Visa. It depends on the information given by you to the authorities. In deciding whether an application is appropriate, there are three main categories, these can be summed up as;
- Financial means
- Purpose of travel
- Risk of illegal migration
Your may be refused a visa if you fail to convince the UK visa officers examining your application that;
- you’ll leave the UK at the end of your visit
- you’re able to support yourself and your dependants during your trip (or have funding from someone else to support you)
- you’re able to pay for your return or onward journey (or have funding from someone else to pay for the journey)
- you’ll not live in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive visits, or make the UK your main home
